Treatises can be useful tools to help you get up to speed quickly on an area of the law that is new or unfamiliar to you. Treatises typically have broad coverage of a specific topic, and contain many articles to explain issues/cases/examples within that topic. I highly recommend beginning any research project you have by consulting a relevant treatise: a good treatise on your topic can contain a trove of useful information and citations to help guide further research.
Handbooks and practice aids are typically written for practitioners of certain types of law and often focus on specific types of issues within a broader topic. They are great resources if you have specific practice-related questions (like for a clinic or other project), or if you are curious about what it might be like to practice law on that topic.
Study aids are designed to help students prepare for courses in those topics, and often include brief explanations of important legal concepts/points of law, outlines, and practice questions.
