Library Resources for SJD Students

Research and writing resources for Penn Carey Law SJD students.

Library Catalogs

To search for print and electronic titles, consult Biddle's Search Center online catalog and the University Library System's Franklin online catalog. If you are looking for legal materials, Search Center offers a search of all titles available at the law library. If an item you are looking for is not available at the law library, consult the Franklin catalog to see if other campus libraries carry that item.

Dissertations

Dissertations offer students excellent research starting points. They both demonstrate the format that the dissertation requires and also provide detailed subject matter bibliographies current to the date of the dissertation.

To search dissertations across many universities, enter key words into the search box at the Proquest link below.  Add "S.J.D." as a keyword and it will only search for SJD dissertations.

To find theses submitted to Penn Law in partial fulfillment of the SJD degree, click here to search Search Center, Biddle's online catalog.  Other Penn Law dissertations may be found online in the Law School's institutional repository.
